A Case Study On Supply Chain Management In FS Company

Forging industry is developing very quickly in recent years and it has appeared significant supply chain system. Now it is one of the most important parts in global manufacturing. As the international economy globalization, developed countries have moved their forging factories to developing countries such as China in order to reduce the cost, improve the lead time and be competitive. FS Dalian is one of foreign company in many forging firms, and it’s supply chain needs to be improved..FS Dalian specializes in the ring manufacture for bearing and gear manufacturing companies. It has operated for more than3years. However, the supply chain system still has some problems. For example, there are lots of issued which are waiting for being solved, including the stability of quality of ring, on-time delivery performance, fast response and so on. At the same time, there are several fields that need to be improved, such as inefficient purchasing of raw materials, slow moving of stock material, inbound and outbound logistics management, and information management.This thesis tries to analyze the existing issues based on management theories, including supply chain management, customer relationship and purchasing management, in order to find the root reasons of management issues, then gives some measures and a series of detail solutions for this company’s development. Proposed measures include adjusting the purchasing of raw materials, improving the management of customer relationship and logistics&ERP management.This thesis puts forward a series of solution for supply chain management of FS corporation which aims to reduce the cost of this company and related corporations in that supply chain, improve the quality of product, improve the fast response ability, improve the management level of both inbound and outbound logistics, then improve competitiveness of the supply chain so that it can be outstanding in the present environment. This case can be the reference of other similar companies and supply chains too.
