S Compnay CTS (OTS) Software System Project Management Process Analysis

This article is based on author’s experience during working in S Company Inc. as project manager of OTS Project. Integrating with management method and procedure in each stage of the OTS (Order Trace Solution) Project, the article expatiate project management across the whole project lifecycle, and analyzes problems, issues and bright points, which can provide some references to other projects.This article addresses management during different phases of software development based on software project characteristic and analyzes management process of OTS Project from planning, workflow optimization, requirement analysis, design, testing, implementation and maintenance, to project closure. It emphasizes using advanced and contemporary management to control OTS Project software development and implementation and ensure project target achievement. OTS software project management is a system of measurement and actions to optimize project target (quality, cost and schedule) and ensure project’s success within limited resources. This article will analyze and provide detailed measurement and actions for project optimization according to three main targets of OTS software development project development and implementation:schedule, cost and quality.At the end of this article, it summarizes’ and analyzes problems and success through the OTS project management. Considering software development specialty, advanced project management methodology is used to solve problems at different stages, e.g., problems and issues on resource management, project structure and project communication management in software development project. Suggestions are also provided to improve points not fully up to expectations.
