The Popularization of Science Movement of China (PSMC), launched and led by the Chinese officials and experts and scholars in1932, had lasted for ten years. This movement was insparable from the strong support of government, but was also insparable from the active support of some experts and scholars. Yu H.Ku is one of them.In the early of PSMC (1932-1937), he was the leader of Beijing Branch of the Chinese Association for Popularization of Science. Under his leadership, they carried out a wide range popularization of scientific knowledge. Such as founding publications and scientific magazines, broadcast speech, public schools, popular science exhibitions, students’scientific lectures, editing sicentific books. The Popularization of Science Movement of Beijing did best in all Branchs. In the late(1938-1942), as a senior government official, Yu H.Ku still didn’t forget to advocate and practise PSMC.He was not only a good promoter of PSMC, but was also a theorist. In January1936, in his scientific papers on "Chinese scientific problem" published in Beijing Branch, Yu H.Ku discussed three questions which formed a system of sicentific philosophy:what is the science and scientization, the objectives of scientization, what the scientization points to. Advocating the application of science is the characteristic of this system.PSMC is launched and controlled by the officials of Chinese. So it was inevitable to be characterized by the ideology and it made "science" as a tool offer the justification for the existing regime. In a brief, Yu H.Ku had been carrying out PSMC as a scientist identity. As a scholar, and later became a senior government official, Yu H.Ku respected "science" all the time as a scholar’s identity in this conversion. As we could see, he paid more attention to "science-society"of scientists in public opinion, and to "society-sicence" in practice. He basically carried out his scientific concept.
