Since the Opium War, science has become the dream of the mass in China. As the launch of the Chinese modernization was compelled, every step of the development in science is filled with struggles. In the area of science education, there were many different theories which connected with other education trends of thought. There were many different methods to implement and popularize the science education. The methods are the focus of this paper.This paper includes five parts.The introduction explains the reasons why choose this topic, defines several basic concepts, reviews the works on this area, and chooses the methods of the research.The focus of Chapter 1 is the scientific group and association .As the writer, I described the background, the general actualities and characters in different historical periods. At the same time, there are several samples to show the work of the scientific group and association.The focus of Chapter 2 is 4 kinds of public house, including library, museum, commonalty-education house and science education house. All of these public places have the function of popularizing science. But to some of them ,the function is not the mainstream except the science education house.The focus of Chapter 3 is the audio-visual technique including film technique and radio technique. It's only at the first step for the audio-visual technique and the work of science popularization to integrate during the period of MinGuo. So, how the new technique were utilized in the work of popularizing science is described within the progress of education films and education broadcast.The last part focuses on the question, how to make the popularization of science more effectively and the paper gives some advice based on the retrospection of the history.
