Ling Wai Dai Da is the notes that based on ZhouQufei’s seen and heardin Guangxi, recorded politics, economy, military, local products, localcustoms and international transportation and trade of the Southern SongDynasty. Ling Wai Dai Da is the important historical materials about theGuangXi society and culture of the Song Dynasty. The book receives atotal of294entries divided into20parts of ten volumes.The“Feng TuMen”,“Fu Yong Men”,“Shi Yong Men”,“Yue Qi Men”,“Man SuMen” and the “Zhi Yi Men” are related to the folklore ofclothing,diet,living,marriage and love, religion, legends and folk art andso on. Ling Wai Dai Da recorded the folklore from all aspects is theimportant documents about the GuangXi folklore. On the basis ofprevious studies,the thesis will use folklore, folk literature, culturalanthropology and philology method to classsify and analyse the folkloreLing Wai Dai Da notes comprehensively,and to explore the the value offolklore implied in it.
