Mineral resources is important material foundation of social development and thenational economy, and is also one of the most important pillar industry in China. Dueto the continuing development of economy and acceleration of industrializationprocess of China, the demand for coal, iron and other mineral resources is increasingrapidly. In the process of strengthening mining, environmental problems and securityissues are becoming increasingly prominent. And also because of the limitationsof traditional regulatory approaches, people don’t have a comprehensive grasp of thewhole status of mineral exploration. Nowadays with the great progress scientists makein the resolution of remote sensing data space and remote sensing informationprocessing technology, remote sensing is providing a reliable technical support toexploit its advantages of macro, high-precision positioning and repeat monitoring. This paper is based on the Jin Shan Meng energy metallogenic belt and Liaoning oreconcentration area development and monitoring and synthesized research of remotesensing monitoring in mine issued by China Geological Survey Bureau. With thesupport of GIS and RS and the guidance of Resources of Shanxi Province OverallPlan (2008-2015), the author selected image data of year2008,2009and2010, andmineral then started the remote sensing research of Lan County and achieved thefollowing results:1、According to the study area, Paper select high-resolution IKONOS satellitedata as the remote sensing data source, On the basis of summing up the theory andmethod of remote sensing data processing, We have carried on the pretreatment workto the remote sensing data such as Geometric correction, ortho rectification, bandcombination, image fusion. and provide a basis for the late study area minedevelopment in remote sensing monitoring2、Using three issue of data, Monitoring the status of mining development andthe study area covers from2008-2010in this study area. Received from2008to2010the study area mine development position remote sensing monitoring results. And through comparative analysis, We get the dynamic change results of Minedevelopment status form2008-2010in this study area3.Based on the results of the remote sensing monitoring data about the miningdevelopment status, combined with《The general planning of mineral resources inShanxi province》. through comprehensive analysis from geological background, government’s measures and social demand, and forecast the trend of development ofmineral resources in this study area.
