The rapid economic and society development of human consumes large amount of fossil fuels, which emits high concentrations of greenhouse gases into atmosphere. The global warming has now threatened human life and property safety, weakened social and ecological system, brought more severe challenges to human survival and development as well as global sustainable development. As economic globalization links the whole world’s production, trade and environmental issues together, the only way to solve climate change is coordinating development of environment and international trade by joint efforts. With the geographical advantage and policy advantage, foreign trade has been taken as the third "power horse" for driving Guangdong’s rapid economic growth. However, export-oriented and extensive mode is subject to the constraints of international trade policy, domestic resources and environment. All these gradually expose the vulnerability and risk. Therefore, study on the export sustainable development in Guangdong province has important theoretical and practical significance. Firstly, the paper has made a thorough collection and review of the existing related research on domestic and foreign literature and then formed the framework of the research. Secondly, the paper describes the concepts of sustainable development and the principle and framework of foreign trade sustainable development. After describing the situation of Guangdong export trade development during2001and2010, the paper analyses the existing problems. Then, by establishing22evaluation indices and the method of entropy, the paper has evaluated Guangdong export trade sustainable development quantitatively. Based on former researches, the writer has put forward some practical and meaningful developing modes to improve the energy saving, environmental protection and the transformation into green foreign trade mode, for example: improving the quality of foreign investment, speeding up the upgrading of skills; promoting the service trade to foreign market; perfecting policy laws and regulations, implementing enterprise energy conservation and emission reductions, and so on.
