As British economist Martin Christopher said:―The real competition is notbetween enterprises but supply chains‖. Supply chain management has now becomethe basis of business operation, however it should be noted that enterprises must payattention to potential risks, one of which is product quality, at the same time ofgaining vested interests.―Toxic milk‖incident of Sanlu Group and―Gas pedal‖recalls of Toyota proves once again that the impact will spread and enlargeprogressively along the supply chain when any part of supply chain emerges a qualitydefect, and ultimately affect thousands of consumer, which jeopardizes corporatereputation eventually. Admittedly, the implementation of supply chain management(SCM) has many advantages such as lower transaction costs, the rapid circulation ofthe logistics and timely delivery of products, but also increases the difficulty oftraditional quality management whose limitations, disability of identifying themechanism of quality activities and issues from the perspective of supply chainsystematically or satisfying customer needs while ensuring product quality in acomplex circumstance, have been highlighted especially under supply chainenvironment. As a matter of fact, various science and technology have been infiltrated, intercrossed and combined each other, and many research projects cannot rely solelyon one field of theory or method, therefore a lot of interdisciplinary have beenemerged. Thus, this paper uses the similarity of human immune system and supplychain quality management system and regards the quality management activity ofsupply chain as the immunization activity in that system by finding the meeting pointof these two areas. We focus a certain node enterprise in the supply chain andin-depth analyze the structure and immune response mechanism of internal supplychain according to immune theory from two dimensions, the lymphatic system and thecomplement system. At the same time, we have built the immune system framework of supply chain quality management in order to optimize the organizational structureof node enterprises, enabling them to meet the need of self-organized, fast-responseeffect just like biological immune system. Furthermore, we have constructed thequality transfer and control model of supply chain from the two dimensions of internaland external supply chain, that is quality transfer and immune response model ofinternal supply chain and quality transfer and immune recognition model of externalsupply chain, studying the quality transfer process of the supply chain on the basis ofimmune theory in deep. On this basis, we have provided several recommendations onsupply chain immunization, including the principles and key issues of theimplementation of supply chain immune system, in order to guide enterprises. On the basis of previous work, this paper flexibly utilizes biological immunetheory, organization immune system theory, supply chain quality management theory, supply chain quality transfer theory and deviation transfer theory, trying to simplifythe complex issues of supply chain quality management system and build theoperation platform for enterprises via immune system. Internal and external supplychain would realize rapid identification and response to quality mutation through theeffective integration of quality management among all enterprises and organizationsand ultimately achieve the goal of managing supply chain efficiently and integratedlyas well as complete customer satisfaction. This paper, with a strong practicalsignificance, is aim to enrich the related areas of research and guide the supply chainquality management practice of enterprises.
