| Currently, China’s urban construction issues have become the focus of contemporary scholars and the public areas of concern. Despite the speed of China’s urban development is obvious, but the process of urbanization in China is lack of quality, failed to create a successful image of the city. This paper analyzes the concept and path of the Beijing World City, and then to draw on the experience and path for the development of Chinese cities.Beijing has experienced decades of rapid development. Although it basically have the "hard" material foundation for World City construction, Beijing city are urgently needed in the field of cultural and creative as the representative of "soft power" non-material evolution upgrade to enhance the worldwide comprehensive influence. This paper summarizes the previous literature on the basis of the World City construction, drawing on the experience of New York, London, Tokyo and Paris, summing up the path of the Beijing World City based on the cultural and creative concept. The cultural and creative concept in this paper is only a conceptual idea, so it should be in-depth studying the urban culture, the cultural and creative industries and cultural and creative industries gathering area, which they influence and role in the World City construction.This paper can be divided into three parts, the first part mainly sum up the theory of world urban construction, constructed and elaborate the concept of cultural and creative urban construction system, and mainly analysis of the advanced experience of New York, London, Tokyo and Paris; the second part is mainly from the World’s Cities building point of view to re-examine the cultural construction of the Beijing city, the convergent areas of cultural and creative industries development as well as cultural and creative industries; the third part analysis of defects and errors of the three dimensions of development and proposed improvement measures and construct based on the cultural and creative concept of the World City Appraisal System, and put forward recommendations and conclusions of the urban construction of Beijing. |
