The Study Of The Agglomeration Effects And The Diffusion Effects Of The Changzhutan Region

The agglomeration and diffusion effects of regional economic activities are widespread phenomenon that existed all over the world. As a result of the impact of the growth pole, the agglomeration and diffusion effects are the main interactions in regional economic activities. Because of the impact of the both effects, regional economic activities bring positive and negative effect to the regions nearby.This article combines economic development situation of the changzhutan region, with the theory of new economic geography in explaining the economic activity space agglomeration and diffusion mechanism, and measure the existence of industrial agglomeration of changzhutan region. This article also apply Moran index to measure the correlation of space economic activities of HUNAN province, and use the factors of reflecting the new economic geography explaining agglomeration and diffusion mechanism to construct the model to measure agglomeration and diffusion effects. By doing so, this article studies the action of the changzhutan region, as the growth pole of HUNAN province, in the economic development. Especially, this article takes the industry as the representative variable to measure the agglomeration effects, and construct the neighbour development level variable to measure the diffusion effects of the changzhutan region. The conclusion is as follows: for the agglomeration effects, the factors of reflecting the new economic geography have significant influence on the measurement of the changzhutan region, and this shows the status of the growth pole of the changzhutan region in the economic development. For the diffusion effects, the changzhutan region has significant influence on the regions nearby. This shows that the changzhutan region is not only having the agglomeration effects for the regions nearby, but also obviously promoting the economic development of the regions nearby. The conclusions of this article suggest that it is very important to strengthen the status of the growth pole of the changzhutan region to drive the the economic development of HUNAN province.
