Actors, Benefits And The Model Choice Of The Farmers Cooperative In Northwest China

In recent years, the cooperative movement among farmers in Northwest China has vigorously developed, lots of farmers cooperatives which present some regional characteristics have been established. There are three major kinds of models in respect of the generative type, each model gains specialties which are different from one another, and finally reflect to the internal governance structure, interests distribution mechanism and the operating performance of the farmers cooperatives. Therefore, the study on the model choice of farmers cooperatives is of great value in theory and practice. For that, this article takes the concept of "field" from Pierre Bourdieu as a theoretical tool to construct a "farmers cooperative field", and measures the structure of the field through the differential degree of economic and political capital inside this field. Then analyzes the concrete actors and their benefits sensation, and finally infers the generative mechanism of the farmers cooperatives and its model choice process. The conclusion is that:the three kinds of combinations between the differential degree of economic capital (high, medium, low) and political capital (high, low) constitute three kinds of specific sub-"farmers cooperative fields", which shape the actors and their benefits sensation inside this sub-fields. Eventually, the actors choose one of the three kinds of farmers cooperative which is adaptable to the structure of the sub-field.
