Fund intensive management originated from western countries,while large multinational corporations set up special departments and persons engaged in fund management.Centralized management of funds started relatively late in Our country.Financial management is the center of business management,while financial management centres on fund management.Centralized management of funds is the inevitable trend,and orientation of fund management under the background of modern economy.It requires not only to achieve the concentration of fund information,financial resources,financial personnel,it also aims at intensive and highly efficient configuration of these factor of production,with business process reform as the core,creative using of the information network technology,active organization integration,allocation of resources,to constantly improve capital gains,and finally realizes the maximization of enterprise value,based on the safety and Liquidity of funds.In recent years,with the rapid development of China’s economy,as well as the reorganization,mergers and acquisitions of enterprises,a large number of large enterprise groups occurred.For these enterprise groups,with many enterprise members,wide-scope of business throughout the world,bigger risking of funds,fund management is the face to face challenge.The only outlet is centralized management of funds.Shipping industry acts as a highly capital-intensive industry,with high investment,high risk,long period of investment recovery.Professional development strategies make it be the formation of a diversified business,more order,broad geographically,plus ceaseless and patulous of business in time and space, Shipping groups face enormous challenges in fund management concept,management mode,and management means.The shipping industry is a highly capital intensive industry, as China’s market economy developing and the deepening of the development of shipping industry,transportation enterprises also develope rapidly,growing scale.With the development of the enterprise group,financial management problems are increasingly prominent,especially the funds intensive management.Based on the shipping industry leader--COSCO Group,take it as an example,the problem analysis and discussion of funds intensive management in COSCO Group will be more typical and representative.The paper adopts normative research methodwith the practices foundation of COSCO Group in the area of fundsl intensive management,taking use of domestic and foreignal advanced theory and experience of funds intensive management,learning from success stories of GE group in funds intensive management, puts forward a series of coping strategies,on the problems for analysis,research and reasons at present capital intensive management in COSCO Group.
