The structure of foreign trade is a reflect of one country or region’s level ofeconomic and technological development, the situation of the industrial structure andinternational competitiveness of the goods, international division of labor andinternational trade position.The changes will affect a country’s economic growth. Inrecent years, with the deepening reform of opening up policy, the rapid development ofChina’s foreign trade, total trade has increased considerably. At the same time, foreigntrade structure has also been largely improved. There is no doubt that in the process ofconstant development of world trade, China has occupied an important position, thedevelopment of China’s foreign trade will have an enormous impact on China’seconomy and even the world economy, China as largest trading nation status can notbe replaced. The same time we should also be a clear understanding of China’s foreigntrade structure, there are still many problems, especially in recent years,the U.S.Sub-prime mortgage crisis triggered a new round of global economic recession,making the export enterprises blocked, the pressure about RMB exchange rateappreciation become bigger, trade friction frequent happened. At the same time,these complex external factors has caused tremendous influence and influence thedevelopment of China’s foreign trade. Therefore, the changes in the structure of foreigntrade have become an imminent, major issues. If we still do not pay attention to theseproblems, they become a stumbling block that prevent the rapid economic growth.This paper uses the economic theory of normative analysis method to expand thediscourse, and use the theory with practice to analysis the constraints of China’sforeign trade restructuring. This article is divided into five parts, the first part start withthe basic knowledge on the structure of foreign trade to collate and analyze relevanttheory and give the background and significance of the topic; The second partdescribes the concept of the structure of foreign trade and summarize changes in thecourse of China’s foreign trade structure; The third part is about the current situation ofcommodity structure of foreign trade, mode structure and regional structure, summedup the problems such as industrial structure of manufactured goods’ export, regionalstructure of foreign trade, service trade structure, and environmental concepts; Thefourth section analyzes the factors that impede the transformation of China’s foreign trade structure, including the impact on factor endowments, industrial technology lags,irrational of the commodity structure, limit of green trade barriers and incomeinequality increases; the fifth part proposed solutions to solve those problems. Forexample, expanding domestic demand and consumption, developing dependentinnovation, focus on environmental protection and development of low-carboneconomy, open new international markets, promote regional coordinated development,in-depth reform and opening up, and operation of the market mechanism.
