Through 30 years of reform and opening-up, China has stepped into a large scale construction period. However, part of construction units in construction process schedule went ahead, due to lack of cost control and monitoring consciousness. And part of the projects went delay because of other reasons. Therefore, the construction enterprise managers should not only value the importance of cost control, but also value the scientific cost management methods.However, the existing cost theory research for crisis warning has some deficiencies:(1) the conclusion of crisis sign analysis is often filled with some descriptive language, so it seems useful less. (2) the crisis sign analysis less mention warning goal line and cordon determination. (3) The crisis sign analysis is updated with more new variable. The new variables need relevant data and higher request, which will greatly reduce the performance evaluation of accuracy. (4) Crisis pre-warning index selection cannot sensitively, accurately reflect the enterprise crisis signs.As to the existing cost early warning research improvements, the author considered introducing the critical path. Combining with the critical path method cost warning, this paper found three difficulties of the company:First, how to combine the critical path into building an overall system construction unit cost pre-warning system. Second, in our daily warning, we should consider how to grasp the warning standard and the various reasonable fluctuating ranges. Third, in the construction process, when we found cost control beyond warning limits, we should use the critical path to analysis and solve the problems.To find out the value of the critical path cost warning analysis, the author selected the field of case studies to prove. The author chose project case of ZTEJ to make the field research. Choosing this project is because that this company is no doubt the demonstration representative. ZTEJ founded in 1950, is the national project construction first grade enterprises, and large railway integrated level construction enterprise. Second, the company pays attention to cost warning control. The top employees pay high attention to the cost control, and actively cooperate with our research and later return work. Third, the author chose this project because this time-limited and cost-limited project needs cost management very much.For case study, the author had a month’s interview investigation and study in ZTEJ, facing 10 main leaders of the main interview. We had the interview for the whole and translated into sound recording. The length of time in every interview is about 90-120 minutes, and the longest interview time is 2 hours 29 points. Transcription time is the twice one of probably interview record time. In a word, a team used 5 hours to translate into text. All the record has probably 187901 words.Through cost control organization interview, I find that there are four main difficulties in the research. The first problem is the data collection’s problems. On the one hand, the data from the program owners has some restriction. On the other hand, the project of daily accounting has compilation errors, especially in the crush period. Second, various subsidiaries project cost control shows the sign that little errors between periods make big problems. Third, cost control indicates rationality. The company uses simplification and hard-core index. Finally, the rationality of the cost precast lines’problem. The construction project is rarely exist cost cordon use.Above all the analysis, the first part of the paper is about analysis and study questions background and significance of the research. The second part is reviewed in construction project of the critical path and cost warning. It also analyzes future development and improvement of this paper using place. The third part is about the project’s cost warning characteristics and deficiencies. The fourth part is for thinking about building a large construction project cost pre-warning system. The fifth part is for verification based on the concrete construction project cost warning trial.This paper is to make up for the deficiency of previous studies in the critical path, and tries to use the combination of earned value research project in cost early warning system for actual case studies.First, through a large number of detailed literature review, the author summarizes the recent research achievements, applications for domestic earned value management method. Secondly, according to previous research on construction project, the author made efforts on cost warning design. Finally, the author filled the development of the theory insufficient of cost warning.However, this paper also has some deficiencies:on the one hand, in the critical path on the earned value analysis, the quantity is large. On the other hand, warning index construction and the construction of the field is one big problem, usually is difficult to determine. This paper attempts to construct enterprise itself characteristic. But this paper still lacks strong theoretical support, forward research advice is about other early-warning index.
