This study is survey research in order to study cross cultural understanding forsustainable development on cultural tourism in Lumbini, The Kingdom of Nepal. Thepurposes of this study were to study and to compare the difference between tourist’spersonal factors in terms of study cross cultural understanding for sustainabledevelopment on cultural tourism in Lumbini, The Kingdom of Nepal. A Case of TheRoyal Thai Monastery Lumbini. In case of primary data were compiled by questionnaireand face-to-face interview. In case of secondary data and general conditions of areaswere compiled by search in document and concerned research. After that, it wasanalyzed and evaluated to be way to develop cultural tourism in Lumbini. The samplesrespondents were400. The sample population is Accidental Sampling. A questionnairewas used as a survey tool and data were analyzed by SPSS version16. The analysis andtests results indicated that:First, the majority of samples respondents were male whose age was between26-35years old. Most of them were Asia and mostly were married. Education level ofsample respondents mostly were Bachelor degree. They were government officer/stateenterprise with their incomes301-500usd per month. In addition, the most of samplerespondents prefer traveling with family/relative. The main purpose of visit forholiday/pleasure. They were most interested in cultural tourism in Lumbini and TheRoyal Thai Monastery Lumbini. The cultural tourist attractions and activities do thesample respondents were most prefer when visiting in Lumbini is historic site andbuilding. Moreover, they got cultural tourist information from brochure/leaflet whilethey prefer to get cultural tourist information from television and prefer to accesseinformation concerning the internet.Second, The most significantly of important variables that influence cross culturaltourist’s perception to understand Thai culture in The Royal Thai Monastery Lumbini,was Appropriation of dissemination of knowledge in Thai culture to make a crosscultural understanding and raising awareness on the value of cultural tourism andcultural tourism resources and conservation.The most significantly of importantvariables that influence tourists’s decision to select destination of cultural tourism inLumbini as a cultural tourism destination was Product=Unique cultural touristattractions&traditions. In addition, comparison the difference between tourist’s personal factors of samplerespondent by Nationality, were positively and significantly correlated with the crosscultural tourist’s perception to understand Thai culture in The Royal Thai MonasteryLumbini and also had significantly correlated to tourists’s decision to select destinationof cultural tourism in Lumbini as a cultural tourism destination.Finally, comparison the difference between tourist’s personal factors of samplerespondent by income per month, were positively and significantly correlated with thetourists’s decision to select destination of cultural tourism in Lumbini, The Kingdom ofNepal.
