Fedetate Oppprtunistic Behavior And Preventon For Third-party Logistics Strategic Alliance

As an important source of competitiveness, strategic alliance has been paid moreattention by enterprise，such as business enterprise and logistics enterprises developedfrom the initial stage of outsourcing to the stage of strategic alliance. However，thelogistic strategic alliance exist risk and a high failure rate，which made enterprise haspsychological fear to build strategic alliance. Therefore，the research of opportunisticbehavior in logistics strategic alliance has important theoretical and practicalsignificance. Although scholars recognize the federate opportunity behavior may leadto dissolution of the union，the reduction of opportunistic behavior motivation.However，in the different stages of development for the alliance，scholars pay littleattention to what factors led to the implementation of opportunistic behavior，and howto eliminate potential causes.Firstly，I argues the topics of the background，purpose and significance of thestudy，and put forward the research logic and possible innovative points. Then，Idescribed the third party logistics alliances theory，life cycle theory，opportunitytheory and related theories. After analogizing the necessity and feasibility of thirdparty logistics, I discussed some problems in alliance operation such as inappropriatepartners’ choice, information asymmetry, irrational distribution of profits, low trustand so on, and attribute this to the existence of alliance opportunistic behavior. Again，based on life cycle theory，I analysis the variety motives of opportunistic behaviorexisted in coalition，and put forward various preventive strategy in the full life cycleof union. I also integrate theory with empirical research，propose specific causes andspecific measures of opportunism during union operation. Finally I indicate theconclusion，innovation，shortcomings and research prospects of this study.Based on the life cycle theory，I discuss logistic alliance opportunistic behaviorin different stages and come to the conclusion:(1)Strategic alliance with third-partylogistics has life characteristic，which can be divided into gestation period，theformation，the development period and the disintegration;(2) There is existence of potential factors which induced opportunistic behavior in the life-cycle stage ofAlliance, mainly: Asymmetric information in advance may lead to inappropriatechoice of partner in Embryonic stage; Incomplete contracts and asset specificity madefederate opportunism possible in the period of alliance formation; Asymmetricinformation cause federate know little about each other, but also reduces thecredibility in the period of alliance development. Self-interest motivation inducedfederator’s opportunistic behavior; Improper performance evaluation result irrationaldistribution of profits in the period of disintegration;(3) Targeted measures should betaken to resolve opportunistic behavior in different life cycle stages of logisticsAlliance，mainly: Establish partner selection criteria to weaken self-partner motivation;Take measures of supervision and incentives to weaken opportunistic behavior thatcaused by incomplete contracts and asset specificity; Strengthen relationship of trustto weaken federate opportunistic motives; Distribute surplus assets rationale andreduce disputes between federate.
