| With the process of digitalization, more and more information technology isapplied to the decision-making environment, during which multi-display wallhas received a wide range of applications. But more than simply piling up thescreen does not mean they can raise the efficiency of information processing andtransmission. More importantly, multi-display is designed to be able to promotecohesive collaboration, integrity, and differenciation in dismissing informationto operators during decision-making process. Design of multi-display is not onlya consequence of some physical factors, such as display quantity, layout and soon, but also deserves attention on other factors including computer-mediatedcommunication, media interacticity, group decision-making and team situationalawareness. As been shown in literature, the effect of computer-mediatedcommunication and cooperation is affected by human-computer interface design, where media richness and media interactivity affect the performance the most. This study focus on the impact of media interactivity on multi-displaysupported computer-mediated decision-making. In the experiment, mediainteractivity was manipulated as three dimisions, control level of informationsubmission, control level of information display, and information synchronicity.A scenario of allocating of goods and costs within a supply chain was applied inthe experiment, in which we want to observe how these variables affect thequality of decision-making, decision time, decision satisfaction, decisioncommitment and situational awareness. Further analysis was also conducted fordeeper mining of the data.Through experiments and statistical analysis, we abtained some results anddrew some conclusions. Control level of information submission positivelycorrelates with decision quality, but negatively correlates with decisionsatisfaction (under synchronous display condition) and decision commitment (under synchronous display condition). Under asynchronous display condition, experiments with passive information display have higher commitment thanthose with active information display. Synchronous display positively correlateswith decision quality, negatively correlates with decision time, and possitivelycorrelates with deicision satisfaction (under active information submissioncondition) and decision commitment (under active information submissioncondition). |
