After the tsunami economic crisis in2008, there is tremendous change undergoing inthe global system. For China, after30years development since the open policy wasimplemented, rapid economic growth has been witnessed in China’s society, togetherwith the rise of the international status and global recognition. However, challengehas been encountered under the surge of economic rocket growth, such as theoverdevelopment of natural resource and the pollution in the environment. As daygoes by, the deteriorated situation in the environment causes further constraint for thesustainable economic development of our country.In amid of new global environment, the key factor for the long-term and sustainabledevelopment for China lies in the introduction of Knowledge-based economy, arevolutionary economic development style. For the economic knowledgedevelopment, there is plenty of sophisticated experience in various aspects inSingapore since the economic knowledge strategy was implemented in the late of1990s.Sino-Singapore economic knowledge city, the third economic project betweenChinese government and Singapore government, will play an important role in thefuture development strategy in both bilateral governments. Radically, the motivationbehind this economic cooperation stems from the mutual complementary advantage.To achieve the goal of the development strategy in both Chinese government andSingapore government in the effective and efficient way, cooperation can strengthenthe advantage and supplement weakness in both sides.This essay will take the case study of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge basedcity, providing the analysis on the factors that affects the motivation for theinternational cooperation in the aspect of the nation development strategies.
