The Comparative Analysis And Improve Regional Financial Competitiveness

Financial competitiveness offers a strong environment support for the healthy,efficient and orderly development of local economy. It reflects what role the nationalor regional financial market plays in the economic development and its competitivepower in the international financial system.With the progress of socialist market economy system and financial market, theallocation function of financial resources serves as an increasingly significant part inthe economy. Studies and facts have shown that a financial system withcomprehensive functions and competitiveness can ensure sufficient capital supply forthe economic development. Promotion of the regional financial competitivenessfunctions as a key role in the realization of sustainable development of a region andthe competition and advancement.The financial development of regions in China presents an uneven appearancecaused by such factors as national conditions, government support and regionallimitations, which will give rise to the different elements affecting the financialcompetitiveness of different regions. Therefore, it is impossible to put forward anagreed evaluation index system for all regions and the correspondent uniform policiesand suggestions. This thesis selects the city of Xi’an, a representative city in thenorthwest part of China, as the study object. The author, on the basis of establishedevaluation index system for financial competitiveness, attempts to compare thefinancial competitiveness among the cities Chengdu, Chongqing and Xi’an byadoption of factor analysis approach. The present development of Xi’an finance andthe relevant existing problems will be clarified, and some policy suggestions will beoffered to promote the financial competitiveness. This thesis is hoped to makecontribution to the financial field.
