The high-tech firms are the effective carrier of technological innovation andaccelerating scientific and technological achievement. They play an increasingly importantrole in national economic and social development. Since the1990s, the dynamiccharacteristics of the environment increasingly significant: science and technology changewith each passing day, products and services is updated frequently, demand preferencevaried uncertain, competitive advantage fleeting. Under the dynamic environment, how toobtain sustainable competitive advantage and to achieve healthy, rapid and sustainedgrowth for the high-tech firms? This is not only important theoretical issues, or significantpractical problems. Dynamic capabilities theory came into being to provide the newmethods and ideas for the analysis of the problems.Firstly, review of the Theory and Related Research on the dynamic capabilities andfirm growth. Secondly, analyze the knowledge characteristics of high-tech firms and theirgrowth. Thirdly, analyze the meaning, dimensions, function, enhancement and influencingfactors of the dynamic capabilities of high-tech firms, and build the model of the growthmechanism of high-tech firms in the view of dynamic capacity. Finally, take case studiesof four telecom firms: Dragon Communication, Datang Telecom, ZTE and HuaweiTechnologies, and summarize the successful experiences and lessons of failure withcomparative methods.The high-tech firms are typical knowledge-based enterprises, and their growth in realterms the accumulation of knowledge and innovation. Thinking of the dynamicadaptability of Environment-Organization-Strategic, dynamic capabilities of high-techfirms are divided into three dimensions: environmental insight, knowledge innovation andstrategic change capacity. Interaction between dynamic capabilities and core competenciesgo to gain sustainable competitive advantage and to realize the firm growth. Throughinternal growth, mergers and acquisitions, the network growth and international growth,Dynamic capabilities take a role in the firm growth and to be further improved. Dynamiccapabilities of high-tech firms are affected by organizational learning, organizationalstructures, entrepreneurial orientation, corporate culture and other factors. High-tech firmsshould enhance organizational learning, optimize the organizational structure, strengthenthe entrepreneurial orientation and improve the corporate culture,to nurture and enhancethe dynamic capability, thus achieving bigger and stronger long-growth objectives.Getting inspiration from the case studies, high-tech enterprises to achieve healthy andrapid and sustained growth must correctly handle the five relationships: Firstly, therelationship between market and technology. Continue technological innovation driven bymarket demands, and take the cooperative development of advantages of market andtechnology. Secondly, take the relationship between internal and external. Integrateinternal and external forces and mobilize all positive factors to encourage enterprises tobetter and faster development. Thirdly, take the relationship between to be larger and to be stronger.Achieve the goal of longer according to the logic stronger-larger-stronger-larger.Fourthly, take the relationship between cooperation and competition. Establish a broadpartnership to accumulate social capital and enhance the dynamic capability. Fifthly, takethe relationship between firms and employees. Adhere to the"people-oriented"concept,andpromote coordination and interaction between businesses and employees in knowledge,learning, growth and innovation.
