Fllowing the globalization of the economy the development of the high-tech industry with high- tech quantities and increasing competativites has been used to the key point of international compitation. High-tech Industry cluster has become the most successful model to develop the high-tech industry,and it is significant to promote technology advancement and the quality of economic growth. So in the last decade,there has been a widespread resurgence of interest in high-tech industry clusters.During the study of high-tech industry cluster,a problem is deserved to consider why some high-tech Industries develop very well(such as Silicon Valley), but others not, what is the driving power of its development and where does this power come?There is still no perfect explaination for those problems in theory. Through the review of current literature and development practice of high-tech industry cluster,we find such a clue:The ability to obtain the resources of the enterprise has close correlation to the social network,with the enterprise growth may relate the network angle from enterprise's society to carry on the explanation,the high-tech enterprise society network has the vital role regarding to the enterprise growth.Studying the relationship among social network,intellectual capital and growth of venture operating within high-tech industry cluster can open out the micro mechanism of venture clustered and resolve the driving power of high-tech industry venture.Although certain theoretical and practical research on the innovation of high-tech industry cluster have been developed with plenty of achievement. The studies on the clustered-growth mechanism of high-tech need further research. So this paper builds the conceptual model of the clustered-growth mechanism of high-tech firms based on the social network, analyzes the relationship among them and points out hypotheses, examines the conceptual model and hypotheses through empirical analysis, discusses the empirical result and points out the significance in theory and in practice. This paper includes following parts.Firstly,reviewing the relative literature about the social network,intellectual capital and the growth of venture and evaluating the contribution and shortage,summarizing the factors this paper will analyze later.Secondly,building the conceptual model of social network,intellectual capital and growth of venture operating within high-tech industry cluster. Taking the current literature as references,this paper divides the social network into three dimensions:network centrality,network range and network intensity and divides internal intellectual into two dimensions:human capital and organize capital mainly divides the growth of venture into two dimensions:quantitative growth and qualitative growth. In this foundation,the paper proposes theoretical model between the essential factors.Thirdly,based on the theoretical analysis, it puts forward twenty hypotheses about the relation of the society network characteristics of high-tech industry cluster, influence of the society network to the internal intelligence capital, relations of interior intelligence capital essential factor function within high-tech industry cluster, the interior intelligence capital of high-tech firms to the growth of enterprise.Fourthly,theoretical model and hypotheses we put forward are tested by using AMOS software. The datas come from questionnaires of 68 software enterprises within Jinan software industry cluster. Results of the test indicate that the model is well supported and nineteen out of twenty hypotheses are supported.Finally, a discussion is made on the test results, which further makes it clear that great importance of the research both in theory and in practice. We analyses the significance of hypotheses which are supported and the cause of hypotheses which are not supported according to the special development background of Chinese high-tech industry cluster.
