The Present Condition Of Forestry Industry And The Study On The Development Direction Of Biomass Energy In Enshi

Forestry industry is the basic industry of national economy, multifunctionallycontribute to ecology, economy, society and environment protection. Fronted with thesevere situation of the global drain trend of fossil fuel such as petroleum, gas, coal,renewable resources have been actively developed, especially forest biomass energy,gaining an international attention due to its various of advantages and features, willnecessarily lead the trend of forestry industry and resources development among theworld.Enshi is the only district of middle China that has been accepted into theWestern Development Strategy. In developing forestry, Enshi has its advantages inpolicies, location, resources and industry development. Under the background of theprocess of several projects, including Western Development Strategy, the Rise ofMiddle China, the New Round of Antipoverty project, and Enshi being the first one tostart the Hubei experimental area of the economic and social development for minoritypeoples in Wu Ling Mountain, it confirms the idea of ecologically developing theprefecture, upholds the development policy of giving priority to forestry,comprehensively managing, adjusting measures to local conditions, and playing out theadvantages. It’s has been the guide and goal for all nationalities in Enshi that to carryout the Green Development Strategy and build a green and ecological prefecture.On the foundation of the full understanding of relevant works on forestry industryat home and abroad, This article looks into the present condition of forestry industry inEnshi, comprehensively analyses the conditions for Enshi to develop forestry, from twodimensions of internal and external factors, and four aspects of advantages,disadvantages, opportunities and challenges. As the biomass energy is sweeping acrossthe world, the article points out the new developing direction for forestry industry(which is to develop forestry biomass energy), and makes analysis on the strengths offorestry biomass energy, the dominant position for Enshi to develop it and the economicprofits it brings, meanwhile, the book also learns from the experience of the forestrydevelopment abroad.
