The current regional economic pattern of China appears the multi-polar growth trend, threemajor growth poles have formed in eastern China, the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Deltaand Jingjinji city group, these areas have made rapid development by virtue of the locationadvantage and policy support. However, in the Midwest of China, although there are not toomuch policy support, there also appear the phenomenon of economic agglomeration inChengdu-Chongqing city group, Guanzhong city group, central Henan urban agglomeration andthe urban agglomeration of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. In order to provethe multi-polar growth pattern of China’s regional economic, quantitative method is proposedaccording to Growth pole concept. The result shows that China has formed a pattern of tengrowth poles. According to the strategic thinking of the multi-polar network, the strategicconcept of the seven major growth pole, the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze River Delta, Jingjinji citygroup, Chengdu-Chongqing city group, Guanzhong city group, central Henan urbanagglomeration and the urban agglomeration of the middle and lower reaches of the YangtzeRiver jointly driving the development of six economic zone in China is proposed.Economic connection within the economic zones is tested with spatial analysis method, thespatial distribution of per capita GDP figure shows that the economic zones have formed core-periphery structure. The region spatial autocorrelation showed that Sichuan-Chongqing region isnegative, the other regions have positive correlation, This shows that there is a link in thedevelopment of inter-regional economic zone, the core-periphery structure is due to thespillover effect of growth pole. The VAR model was used to test the spillover effect of growthpole areas, Chengdu-Chongqing city group and Guanzhong urban agglomeration’s GDP percapita fail to pass the Granger causality test, the other five growth have very significant spillovereffects to the radiation area. The paths of spillover effects of growth poles to the radiation areasare analyzed, that the growth polar region can overflow through technology, industrial transferand regional trade-led economic development of the radiation areas. The investment efficiencyof the growth poles and radiation areas are measured using the marginal capital-output ratio andmeasurement model, find that the efficiency of investment in the growth pole regions to besignificantly higher than the radiation regions. According to the results of the study, propose that the government should focus on strengthening growth-pole investment, improving the economiczone of regional integration, actively carrying out economic and external trade in the region andencouraging the central and western regions to undertake industrial transfer to promote thenational economy’s growth.
