P2P technology is used for different PC users, without a direct exchange of data relay devices or service technology. It is the current international research in the field of computer network technology, a hot spot. It was the "Fortune" magazine hailed as the Internet will change the future of the four new technologies, and considered the future of wireless broadband Internet technology. P2P mechanisms can be used to access any kind of distributed resources, and provide new possibilities on Internet applications. P2P technology can effectively improve the operator’s network on scalability, robustness and fault tolerance. P2P technology makes the SIP network more powerful, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) systems with high scalability, robustness, high fault tolerance features, thanks to P2P do not rely on central node through the network nodes such as self-organizing collaborative approach to the discovery of resources, sharing of resources. With the rapid development of P2P technology, the Internet storage mode change from the current "content in the center" mode into "content at the edge" mode, instead of the big sites as the center on Internet, return to "non-centralized."How to use P2P distributed algorithm for resource location, as well as how to solve the heterogeneous P2P SIP Network Interworking problem is key technologies of P2P SIP network. Using the standard SIP protocol, P2P SIP softswitch can interchange more easily with other devices or PSTN.Firstly Chapter 1 of this paper recommends the background, as well as P2P research status at home and abroad; Chapter 2 describes the SIP protocol from the current situation, functions, features, architecture, etc; Chapter 3 describes the specific definition of P2P technology, especially for difference between first-generation P2P and second-generation P2P and the P2P topology, also the reason why P2P SIP technology appears; Chapter 4 describes some knowledge related on distributed hash table DHT, including DHT mechanism, interface and so on.; Chapter 5 studies one of the classic P2P routing algorithm—the Chord-based on DHT algorithm in-depth, analyses the Chord routing mechanism algorithm by detail, and compares the several hierarchical structure of P2P network model, and discusses the difference between the hierarchical Chord network and single-Chord network, and shows the detail through simulation test. Chapter 6 is a summary of the whole article.
