The paper deals with the design of the physiological signal monitor based on the embedded ARM9 system for the health-care information. Considering the character-istics of the physiological signals, the acquisition, transmission and display systems of the physiological signals are designed.The physiological signals are acquired, amplified and filtered to extract the clear signals by using the analog circuits. The acquired physiological signals are recorded and stored temporarily by way of the ultra-low-power 16-bit single-chip microproc-essor MSP430FG4618 and large-capacity Flash memory. The community hospitals can detect the physiological information of any inhabitant anywhere inside the com-munity. And the transmission of the signals are done using the Zigbee-based wireless transmission protocol based on the MSP430FG4618. The Zigbee is a new, wireless and short-ranged network communications technology that has the focus on the low power, low cost, low complexity, and low rate. A master node manages a number of sub-nodes the way of mesh structure. The physiological signals acquired by the sub-nodes are sent to the main node in Monitor Center under the transmission proto-col. Then the master node transmits the physiological signals to ARM9 through the RS232 serial port of the MSP430FG4618. The community doctors can get peoples information by the ARM9 embedded system in real time to finish the task of the health-care and treatment.The sytem uses the S3C2410 microprocessor chip based on ARM9 from Sam-sung. The 50-pin LCD interface provides all the signal lines required by TFT-type LCD screen interfaces, and touch screen interface is leds out. The ECG waveforms and a variety of physiological specification can be displayed on the touch screen. With the keys, the user-friendly Chinese menu is display, and the operation is very simple.The monitor is reliable and stable, small in the size, great in the storage capacity, low power dissipated, portable and convinient..
