With the rapid development of telecommunication, cellular network is becoming more and more complex and enormous, various types of low power nodes are expected to be established to support high data rate in densely populated areas. It is not tractable to configure, optimize and maintain every station, At the same time, base stations energy loss increased, energy conservation and emissions reduction work has become the urgent matter. Intelligent self-optimization technique is known as self-organizing network (SON) with independent management and optimization function. Its research significance and the goal aim to configure and optimize the network automatically, so that the interaction of human can be reduced and the capacity of the network can be increased.In this thesis, we study the key technologies of self-optimization in heterogeneous networks, mainly revolves performance study of two aspects-the mobility enhancement and energy saving optimization and the simulation analysis of corresponding optimization scheme. In this thesis, the main research contents are shown as follows:Firstly, the mobility problem in heterogeneous networks is studied, we analyze the mobile performance with different parameters, then we categorize the mobility problems in heterogeneous network and give the corresponding solutions.Secondly, in view of the special scenario of heterogeneous network, A improved MSE scheme is proposed by just statistics the handover or cell re-selection with some characteristics, the simulation results show that this solution effectively improves the accuracy of MSE, makes network can adjust the switch parameters timely and accurately, improves the handover success rate, decreases the times of radio link failure(RLF), so as to optimizes the user experience and improves system performance.Thirdly, the energy saving optimization problems in heterogeneous network is studied, we analyze the energy gain and cost of the existing four types of energy saving scheme (energy saving scheme based on Rel-9, energy saving scheme based on IOT, energy saving scheme based on UE measurement, energy saving scheme based on position measurement). And propose a optimization scheme for the latter two energy-saving scheme, and a simulation analysis was carried out for it, results illustrate that the optimization scheme improves the work accuracy of energy saving base station.
