Nowadays with the rapid development of navigation technology,Global Navigation Satellite System plays an important role in many fields such as geodetic monitoring, resource exploration, land resource management and vehicle navigation. GPS, GLONASS and Compass navigation systems have become a hot topic. With this background,high-performance, high-compatible and high-precision multi-mode GNSS satellite signal simulator and receiver attract more and more attention.Taking GPS as an example, this paper analyzes the basic components and the navigation principle of the Global Navigation Satellite System. User equipment is used to realize the navigation function. In order to evaluate the performance of the system objectively, this paper also establishes a user equipment test system to test all kinds of performance metrics.Moreover, this paper researches on the design plan and structure of evaluation sub system. The assess procedure of ranging accuracy test, channel delay conformance test, test for positioning and velocity measurement precision are analyzed and studied specially.The paper also develops the display control software of user receiver. Based on particular analysis of user requirement, the overall structure of the software is designed. Also the serial communication module, information processing module, the software control module and interface display module are developed to display the location data. These work has made great contributions to the resource saving of DSP and receiver performance improvements. In a long period of testing practice, the stability and reliability of software have been proved.
