A touch screen provides an attractive method for people to interact with applications and devices. This form of human-machine interaction has been widely accepted by users. With the improvement of the touch screen, the advent of the acoustic wave touch screen breaks the point and line traditional touch gesture pattern, it can recognize the touch strength and touch area, namely the next generation of the touch screen. Base on this kind of touch screen, the touch gestures will be more and more, a unified gesture model is necessary to describe and classify the many kinds of gestures and also assist the algorithm design of the gestures recognition, making the recognition of gestures as accurately as possible and avoid conflict between the different gestures.This paper presents a unified touch gesture model, it describe touch gestures from the number of touch points, area, time and strength of each touch point and trajectory of the gesture five dimensions. Each dimension has its own domain value, Cartesian product of the five dimensions constitute a collection of all the gestures. Base on the five dimensions to describe touch gestures, making each touch gestures in each dimension has a corresponding attribute value, can help people to better describe and understand touch gestures. The paper gives the touch gesture recognition algorithm of the five dimensions, through a large number of experiments to demonstrate the critical values of the relevant parameters of the recognition algorithm, improved the unified touch gesture model, so that the model can not only classify the touch gestures, but also be able to recognize different touch gestures without conflict and ensure the accuracy. Based on the touch gesture model, encapsulated recognition algorithm into gesture package, can greatly facilitate the development of the touch gestures’ recognition and touch screen applications. In addition, the paper describe the design and application method of the touch gesture package and pass a concept which using touch gestures to process images is more convenient and operation method is more novel to the readers.The outcome of the paper has theoretical and practical value for further promoting the wide application of touch screen, and it also has reference value for the research of touch screen.
