Image deformation technology develops in the basis of computer graphics and digitalimage processing. It is a kind of image processing technology that can effectively performsome interesting visual effect. It has a very wide range of applications in the film andtelevision, entertainment, advertising, medical, etc. A good deformation algorithm should beable to get good visual effects after some simple steps. It means that:(l)In the process ofdeformation, the characteristics of the intermediate state (length, angle,area, etc.)shouldchange monotonously and smoothly.(2)The algorithm can avoid the unnatural states, such asself, shrink, twist,etc.(3)The algorithm should provide user with feedback interactively.This paper is mainly through the study in the field of current image deformation FFD,Laplacian transformation of coordinates and AS-rigid-AS-possible and so on many kindsof algorithms, find suitable deformation technology for high quality animation characters.Based on this idea, the key research point is based on the feature descriptor of image matchingtechnology, such as Moravec, Harris and SIFT. Finally the paper combines image matchingand image deformation technologies and put forward the deformation of animation charactersbased on the model. The main work of this paper is that:(1) This paper presents a feature matching algorithm based on the combination of SIFTand Daisy descriptor. The method uses SIFT algorithm to generate feature points, and thendescribes these feature points by Daisy descriptor for its good rotation invariant, and finallythe disparity map obtained according to the nearest neighbor matching based on Euclideandistance and seed region growing. Experimental results show this algorithm wins highmatching accuracy and better performance when there are different levels of image geometricdistortion or radiation distortion. The method is used to provide the locus of control in thenext image deformation.(2) This paper combines image matching and image deformation technologies and putforward the deformation of animation characters based on the model. It use image matchingtechnology to acquire the changes about the coordinate of the correlation matching featurepoints of the model before and after deformation, then use the matching feature points as thelocus of control in deformation, implement the deformation of the animation characters basedon the edge of the as-rigid-as-possible algorithm. That is mean the model transfer the attitudechange to the animation characters. The experimental results show that the effect of thedeformation win high quality and it can be applied to the high quality animation production.
