In recent years, with the development of wireless mobile communication technology, dual-band or multi-band signals have a wider range of applications. Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) supports both IEEE802.11a, IEEE802.11b and IEEE802.11g standard multi-band systems; multi-mode mobile phones support both WCDMA, GSM and CDMA2000standard; positioning system supports both GPS, Compass, Galileo and GLONASS positioning methods; military applications support multi-satellite system (for example:UHF/S satellite systems, etc.). These applications can not be separated from the research and use of dual-band or multi-band receivers. Currently, dual-band receivers use two or more mixers to move the RF signal to an intermediate frequency. It not only led to increase the volume and power consumption, but also increases the complexity of the system and introduces more noise, based on the existing dual-band technology, the thesis proposes concurrent dual band technology with two local oscillator signals, that is to say, two RF signals mix with two local oscillators in one mixer at the same time, to get IF signals. The thesis firstly starts from the existing dual-band receiver architecture, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages, establishes own dual-band receiver architecture. Through analysis the proposed framework, the thesis finds the principles and methods of the concurrent dual-band mixer technology. Secondly, through the theory with practice, the thesis gets the qualitative and quantitative solutions to how to choose the LO and IF signals. Finally, with the mixer chip HMC597, the thesis designs and achieves UHF/S dual-band technology. Through the actual test such as flatness or EVM, the thesis gets the results, which can be compared with transmission performance of the single-band signal, and verifies the feasibility of the technology. The thesis researches and implements the concurrent dual-band mixing technology based on local oscillator signals, which can finish the mixing on a single channel. Under the premise of ensure the performance, It can greatly reduce power consumption, size and cost. It not only lays a solid foundation for the realization of the dual-band system, but also provides technical support for dual-band or multi-band terminal, so that it can play a greater role in military or commercial applications.
