Network coding has been a research focus in the communication field since R.Ahlswede et al. proposed this new concept first time in2000. Network coding is a new technology of information exchange, which combines traditional routing and data coding. Based on traditional routing technology of storage and forwarding, it will increase the amount of transmitting information and the performance of network by encoding several received packets.The combination of wireless cellular network and relay transmission technology is an inevitable trend of the next generation of wireless communication technology in the future. With the characteristics of two-way transmission and broadcast of data in wireless network, network coding has great advantage in improving the throughput of wireless network and reducing packet transmission times.This paper is based on a project-hardware platform of cooperative relay network coding, focusing on research and implementation of network coding in MAC layer for wireless communication system.The main research points can be listed as follows:Firstly, I analyze the basic principles of network coding and the advantages and disadvantages of network coding compared with traditional routing forwarding strategy, and focus on present situation of network coding development in MAC layer in wireless network home and abroad.Secondly, on the basis of network coding research in MAC, I propose a new network coding transmission strategy in wireless two-way relay network, which combines packet-level forward error correction of MAC and network coding. In wireless two-way relay network, reliability can be improved with packet-level forward error correction, while the advantage of network coding is increasing the throughoutput. With the effective combination of them, both reliability and throughoutput of network can be improved.Finally, I research design and implementation of network coding hardware platform in wireless two-way relay network and multiple access network, including the transmission parameters of system, the key technologies that used, the architecture of platform, the design idea and structure of MAC layer and implement of network coding in MAC.
