With increased network security incidents and hazards, people are paying more and more attention to information security, and gradually increasing the use of information security products. Firewall as the most widely used network security products, the pros and cons of the performance condition will directly affect the product sales of firewall vendor, as well as the user experience. How to do more effective firewall performance test and to reflect the real performance status of the firewall has become the focused problem of the firewall performance testers.This article first describes the current network security situation as well as firewall products, followed pointed out the importance of network security and the meaning and content of the research on the firewall product performance testing techniques.The article first introduces the firewall performance index system, and then discusses the traditional performance test method. Finally, the article focuses on the modeling method based on single-CPU firewall. This method is based on the traditional firewall performance test data, and establishs the firewall performance test model through mathematical methods, this section will discuss the scope of the performance model, the framework, the detailed modeling process as well as the use of methods in detail.The article establishs a single-CPU performance test model of the firewall eventually, and verifies the correctness of the model. Using the established model can simply assess the processing ability of firewall in the actual application environment and effective solve the problem that performance testing using traditional firewall performance test method can not reflect firewall performance in practical scenarios.
