With the continuous development of the2G/3G cellular communication network, mobile communications traffic gradually play an important role in people’s lives. Since location-based services are so convenient that mobile network positioning technology has become a hot research point recently. Operators who want to develop the mobile traffic and lead the market must make full use of the existing location algorithm and give a fast, accurate location method for the mobile.This paper presents three technologies for the fingerprint-based partial matching location algorithm, including measure report pretreatment, fingerprint evaluation and fingerprint adjustment. The measure reports pretreatment includes the detection of MR’s effectiveness, TCH correction, MR interpolation and signal smoothing to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the MR. Fingerprint evaluation indicators include cell coverage distance, cell front flap coverage, left and right flap coverage, cell overlap degree and so on. Cropped fingerprint samples and characteristic dimensions for the partial matching method according to these indicators. And make the training model and training samples more targeted. Fingerprint adjustment techniques using ray tracing model to adjust the cells that appearing in the MR with big error or the cells that have an uneven coverage in the left and right flap. In the samples adjustment, the paper gives three methods, including adjustment of the extended grid adjustment, selection of the ray into the ground, expansion of the fingerprint’s dimension. Adjust the fingerprint sample database in the positioning region and improve the positioning accuracy. Using the technologies introduced above, the fingerprint-based mobile location system is built. With the selection of the relational database SQL Server2005to store the network data and location data, this system implied by the c++.net programming language. The positioning trajectory and network coverage are present by the Mapxtreme geographic information systems. The system can select the appropriate dimensions automatically for each measurement reporting structure and gives the positioning results.The system is used in the GSM network in Chengdu, and evaluated by the actual measure report. The system can give location results with higher accuracy and provide the position information of the mobile for the location based services and mobile communication network optimization.
