China is one of the four ancient civilizations in the world. With the expansion of its influence, Chinese culture is known by many countries and becomes a valuable asset of mankind. Among the outstanding cultural heritage in China, the martial arts, one of the traditional Chinese sports, is the earliest-spread and widely-accepted all over the world. Due to the limitation of the traditional and internet martial arts teaching mode and the complexity of martial arts action and behind the profound cultural connotation, it is difficult for people to have a deep understanding, and cannot be spread widely.As the rapid development of network technology, data acquisition technology and multimedia technology, thinking and learning styles of human change, because a new way of information dissemination appears. Entrusted by Tai Chi Mingzhi development center of Shandong and supported by independent innovation funds of Shandong university (2012TS209), China traditional martial art immersive interactive learning system, this paper researches the Tai Chi and develops Tai Chi learning system based on natural interaction, adopting new Web technologies, multi-touch human-computer interaction technology and multimedia technology.In this paper, we consider the background of Tai Chi and the actual needs of enthusiasts and coach, make the detailed demand analysis of the Chinese Tai Chi learning system, carry on the overall system design based on that, and develop and evaluate the interface of the system (including display and interactive), data entry and management system. The system adopts B/S structure and MVC mode, using Visual Studio and Expression Blend as the development tool, Silverlight as the development language providing display and interaction function, MySQL as a database management system, and WCF RIA exchanging data between the presentation layer and the database.In the system implementation process, we have fully considered the user experience. This system supports touch interaction and design a UI according to the habit of touching. Designing and implementing a touch page-turning function supports natural page-turning action. The system adopts various kinds of forms to show picture using animation. We design and implement a variety of forms of data visualization, such as showing the history of Tai Chi with a timeline and show sects heritage with tree structure.Because of the use of a large number of interaction and visualization technology. we emphasis on user experience and interface friendly. So we organize the students in software college of Shandong university and the instructor in Shandong Mingzhi Tai Chi development center to evaluate the system and give suggestions to improve the system based on the users feedback.The system will improve the teaching content and form of the Tai Chi learning system in the future work. Meanwhile, we strive to make more personalized learning system model based on user feedback to bring Tai Chi and Chinese martial arts to the world.
