Design And Development On DLNA Over Android Platform

With the popularization of the network, and the promotion of the electronic equipment with network function (computers, wireless terminals, household appliances, etc.), people are eager to connect all of the equipment at home and realize the digital media sharing and have the colorful life. People are eager for the easy solution which can connect all of the equipment.DLNA (DLNA DIGITAL LIVING NETWORK ALLIANCE) is one of the solutions. It aims to connect the personal computers, consumer electronics, wireless mobile devices, and so on(the wireless network and wired network) and realizes the digital media sharing. The core goal of DLNA is to achieve interoperability of family wired and wireless network. People can share the video, music and image in the network whenever and wherever.Android is open smartphone operating system based on the Linux platform. Currently it is widely used in our country and accounted for the absolute leading position in the smartphone market.This article realizes the DLNA function based on Android. Finally we developed DLNA application which meets the DLNA standard and it has good connectivity with other equipment.In this paper, the main work includes:1) Introduces the concept and protocol architecture of DLNA. Introduces the device type defined by DLNA. Analysis the various protocols and standard used by the DLNA.2) Studies UPnP standard used by the DLNA. Describes the UPnP and network composition briefly. Analysis UPnP stack. Studies the UPnP implementation workflow in-depth.3) Expounds detailed the DLNA protocol stack development based on the Android. Analysis the main function of the protocol stack. Designs the protocol stack software architecture. Designs detailed every module of the protocol stack.4) Introduces the Android application development in detail and test methods.Through the design and development of DLNA based on Android, we develop the DLNA protocol stack and the DLNA product. It can be applied to Android phone and Android TV, also can be applied to the other products based on Android. At the same time it enriches the type of our company’s products and improves product competitiveness.At the same time, this article can help developers better understand DLNA. This article can guide the development of DLNA and has the reference value for the development based on Android.
