This thesis is part of the National Natural Science Foundation:Wireless sensor networksbased on the time series of low-power data acquisition method(No.60970112).We propose asolution to fault management for Wireless sensor networks because of their own limitations andthe scalability issue. By introducing new network equipments, one can improve the traditionaldistributed hierarchical management structure, the equipment can quickly locate the failure andanalyze the cause of the failure, therefore can greatly improve the efficiency of networkmaintenance; we also propose a new low-energy fault management protocol, which can quicklyrespond to failures. The experimental results show that, compared with traditional protocols, thisprotocol can detect failures, responds quickly to failures and recover from failures at minimalcosts, therefore reduce the impact of failures on networks.First of all, By introducing the traditional of distributed hierarchical management structure, and Analysis the shortcomings of the WSNMP and MANNA architecture in the fault detectionprocess. By designing the new distributed hierarchical management structure and LPS-FMP, theycan improve the disadvantages of improve the traditional distributed hierarchical managementstructure.Secondly, Designed the hardware and software of the new distributed hierarchicalmanagement structure and LPS-FMP. Hardware include of Agent device, one can providehardware carrier of the new architecture and new protocols. Software include of faultdetermination program. Introduce the working process of the fault determination program. Finally, the new distributed hierarchical management structure, LPS-FMP, MANNA andWSNMP are simulated by MATLAB simulation software and lab built environment. The resultsshow that compare the new distributed hierarchical management structure and LPS-FMP faultdetection protocol with the WSNMP and MANNA architecture have some advantages, include ofefficient fault response and lower energy consumption.
