The technology of the Internet of Things (IOT) has obtained a rapid development in our country in recent years. Smart home has become a hot research topic as an important application of the IOT. With the improvement of the technological level and people’s quality of life, higher requirements of home and workplace’s environment are put forward. Smart home is becoming more energy conservation, environmental protection, integration, intelligence, networking, standardization and humanization.The foundation work of analysis and research is done about the smart home system at home and abroad. According to the current functional requirements of the consumers and the advantages and disadvantages of the existing research results or products, a smart home system solution, which bases on ZigBee wireless communication technology and speech SPCE061A recognition technology, is present. This system contains of six modules:the gateway subsystem, the mobile terminal subsystem, the intelligent security subsystem, the smart appliances subsystem, the remote control subsystem and the speech recognition subsystem. The control program of the gateway controller is designed though the Visual Basic programming language on the host computer. The terminal equipment operating software is designed to control the appliances by accessing the gateway controller via Wi-Fi. The ZigBee network communication node is designed by using the single-chip CC2530. The sensors, such as combustible gases, temperature and humidity, raindrops and so on, are used to realize the intelligent security, and to monitor the environment indoor and outdoor. Remote control devices, learning infrared remote controllers and wireless switches are designed to control the appliances such as TV, air conditioning, gas solenoid valve, drip irrigation solenoid valves and other equipments. Though combining the GSM SMS network technology with ZigBee technology, the appliances and equipments could be controlled by SMS instruction, and the information could be received from the intelligent security. The16-bit single-chip SPCE061A is integrated into the system to realize the speech control of the appliances and equipments though the speech recognition.The smart home system is described from three stages in this paper. In the first stage, the framework of smart home system is proposed. A mesh network is used as the network topology of the nodes in this system. In the second stage, the system hardware and software are designed. The software of the CC2530node is designed by using the ZigBee PRO/2007 stack. A fusion algorithm of the collected data from the same kind of sensors is researched and designed in the software to ensure the accuracy of the system control. In the last stage, the system is tested and optimized. The communication distance, packet loss and other tests are conducted on the CC2530nodes.This smart home system is researched and designed by using ZigBee technology. Besides, multi-sensor, SPCE061A voice recognition, GSM network communication. IrDA remote control and other related technologies are integrated into this system. The thesis is innovative in the aspact of realizing the speech control and remote control of the appliances. The experiments show that this smart home system has some practical value with the features such as high stability, scalability, simple to install and easy to use.
