With the intelligent measuring instruments now used more and more popular, itsreal-time nature of the system requirements and the increasing stability. Moreover, thecurrent pace of development in this field is also growing fast, the measuringinstrument updates and scalability requirements are relatively high. This requires thesystem to be updated and expanded capacity can be guaranteed. Therefore, this paperis mainly for the above two requirements, ARM-based real-time file storagemanagement system design. The system will eventually achieve the functions are: to ensure the premise ofreal-time data acquisition and display on VFD display; can always under the controlof the user to save the converted data (on the PC side can show the data analyzed);through Local access can always read and manage stored data content; systemfirmware upgrade. Among them, display and keyboard control fully considered thereal-time requirements, have carried out interrupt mode processing. The system needs to complete the application layer software modules: inembedded real-time operating system kernel Toppers/ASP to complete the four mainfunctions of tasks: handling data acquisition, real-time data display, keyboardinteractive, file storage management. The system needs to complete the driver layersoftware modules: Based on the LPC2478(ARM7) controller keyboard driver; FatFStransplant on an SD card interface driver. Bootloader design: Each has debuggingembedded system development and expansion of the functional needs, so this featureis also carried out a detailed design. Join in the bootloader on the basis of the systemfirmware update upgrade module: You can remotely upgrade firmware (Xmodem filetransfer protocol), you can also upgrade the firmware of local SD card (FatFS filesystem support).System design final test results: The main test of the system stability and the long-running real-time data collection preservation. The system design can meet themarket existing benchtop digital multimeter performance requirements, but also in thefile storage management has gone beyond some high-performance digital multimeter.System Design Summary: low performance early in the design completed, afterthe software structure optimization, the final result than the initial design has beensignificantly improved performance, mainly reflected in: File traversal and data typeconversion in two ways. That part of the performance increase of60%or more.Scalability of the system is very flexible and can be extended as required network portfor remote communication (currently serial communication), high-speed USBcommunication (currently SD card communication), on-site analysis of large dataprocessing. The part of the expansion is not yet complete, the future need furtherimprovement.
