Now, the virtual motion platform is widely used in many fields including military, entertainment and daily life and so on. For example, flight simulation for pilots training; various road conditions simulation to help new drivers to learn operations; and providing vivid scenes for some games to bring players exciting feeling. Application of motion platform can reduce the cost greatly and improve efficiency, whose many advantages make it become a hot research issue.In this thesis, the research on the three degree of freedom motion platform is conducted based on the analysis of the current market development and the actual application requirements. The three degree of freedom series motion platform and the three degree of freedom parallel motion platform have been developed. Structural design and kinematics analysis were worked out, and the prototype was produced. It was finished testing on simulation of car climbing, downhill, bumps, turning, transmission, and unilateral obstacles and so on.The thesis introduces the design process and the parameter calculation of the serial and parallel mechanisms and dynamic simulations on the two mechanisms. The work of this thesis is as following:The working principle of parallel mechanisms was analyzed extensively. The design of the three degree of freedom parallel motion platform and the kinematics analysis of it were done. At the meanwhile, the preliminary budget and the feasibility for the sale market have been carried on.By several tools, such as ADAMS, the kinematics simulation analysis was done. Additionally, the detailed design of the platform and the three-dimensional model were completed.Combined with the prototype, the virtual driving simulations were carried. Motion parameters were got from many the manned tests. Base on the comparison and analysis of parameters, the foundation was built for the later research.According to the manufacturing process of prototype, the instructions of the machining, assembly, maintenance of the virtual motion platform products and the related documents, records were completed.The design and the calculation of the main components parameters of the selection were worked out. The machining drawings were finished.The physical prototype test demonstrates that:the motion platform has good movement performance and can efficiently complete the target motions with the virtual scene. The designs have broad market significance.
