Controlling the group velocity of light can lead toslow light.Research on slow light is very important in the fields such as optical communication, microwave photonics and opticalinformationprocessing. As fiber optical parametric amplification can generate tunable delay and is suitable for high speed data processing, it has been widely studied in recent years.Thisthesis is focused on the analyzing characteristics of slow light based on single pumped FOPA. The rang of signal wavelength where the delay changedsmoothly is defined as effective delay bandwidth by the simulation of relationship of slow light and signal wavelength. The changing of effective delay bandwidth and the amount of delay with nonlinear coefficient, fiber wavelength, pump power and pump wavelength are obtained. Moreover, we reach a conclusion that the signal delay is increased as the gain gets larger on fixed signal wavelength in effective delay bandwidth. The effect on delay in FOPA is studiedwhen the fluctuation of zero dispersion wavelength(ZDWL) has been. The more zero dispersion wavelength fluctuation ranges is, the more effective delay bandwidth and also delay value are. In improving the pump power and fiber length conditions, changing of effective delay bandwidth and delay value basically is in accord with noZDWL fluctuation. Because the slow light can be occurred andlarge delay is achieved outside of effective delay bandwidth, we also research on the characteristics of delay with ZDWL fluctuation, and obtain the changingcurves same as to inside of effective delay bandwidth. At last, several measures are put forward to reduce the impact of ZDWL fluctuation.
