| With the rapid development of Internet, and the increasing requirement of the storage for network servers, the problem of inadequate capacity for the inner-storage of servers meeting with the growth of information voltage comes quietly. Coming up with this thought, Storage Access Network(SAN) appears providing a specialized extern storage environment by making full use of the new hardware and network technologies, meeting the needs of high capacity, high availability, accessing and backing up function.FC protocol now has been in widely use for SAN, but for the large requirement for NICs and cables, the investment and maintenance are both not easy for achievement, as well as the bad scalability. To solve this problem, I/O integration and network unifying is needed. FCoE is able to map Fiber Channel to Ethernet, and inserts the FC information into Ethernet frames. Now it has been widely used for Converge Enhanced Ethernet, same for Data Center Bridge, realizing the seamless connection for SAN and FCoE. The researching for FCoE generic service of this paper, aims to store the different properties of devices in the network as a DNS database, providing inquiry, deletion and maintenance functions. Firstly I propose a detailed division for the application scene of generic service, and then comes the safeguard mechanism from the angle of process as well as data. Then is the registered state notification, FC-DNS database functions, etc, providing abundant support for the upper-layers of FC SAN network, at last, Several typical results of the project are demonstrated as summary. |
