Currently high data speed and broadband transmission has become the trend of future wireless mobile systems. As representative of the international standard organization,3GPP is actively promoting standardization of LTE/LTE-Advanced to meet the requirement of the Fourth Generation Wireless Communication System (4G). As one of the key techniques of LTE-Advanced, Carrier Aggregation (CA) can aggregate the discontinuous spectrum resource together to enhance the data rate and system capacity. Based on the LTE standardization process and with the support of research project and optimization theories, the thesis focuses on the research of LTE-A Carrier Aggregation technique, including evaluation of CA uplink control channel demodulation performance, Active Antenna Array coexistence study and optimal power control under CA-MIMO scenario.First of all, the influence of carrier aggregation on the uplink control channel is analyzed. Also the performances of two new uplink control channel formats are evaluated, so that the feasibility of new PUCCH format is verified.Next, the impact of RF requirements when introducing Active Antenna Array System(AAS) to CA base station (BS) is analyzed. Through coexistence simulations, the blocking and ACLR performance of LTE AAS BS is evaluated. Finally, based on the convex and matrix theories, the paper works on the optimal power allocation algorithm when the power constraints on multiple antennas, multiple CCs and multiple Txs are simultaneously existed. The degenerative conditions for multiple power limits under CA homogeneous scenario are deduced. A modified hybrid gradient optimal power control allocation algorithm (MHGOPA) is proposed. Moreover, the results above are extended to CA heterogeneous scenario and are verified through numerical simulations.
