In the21st century, along with the development of wireless communication technology, microelectronics technology and the rapid development of computer technology and progress, and they promote the wireless sensor which is one low power consumption multi-function emerging technology rapid development, it is realized in the tiny volume to achieve comprehensive data collection, data processing and data communication, and many other comprehensive function.Wireless sensor network (WSN) is one of the new century’s top scientific fields, because of its potential value, it has been attached great importance by many national industry and academic circles. WSN network is deployed in the area for monitoring, it is made up of a large amount of computing power and cheap micro sensor nodes which have certain wireless transmission communication ability, it is a kind of communication mode and the formation of multiple hops self-organizing network through wireless communication. It is used to get the object information in the covering area by a large number of sensor nodes cooperation through data acquisition, processing and transmission, and transfer the information to the observer. Based on the potential value, the wireless sensor network technology has a wide range of important value in industrial and military frontier area. In the wireless sensor network technology, the target location and tracking which have quite a wide range of use value in various fields is one of the important aspects of the study. WSN network technique is generally use the built-in battery for power supply, once they are stationed in the surveyed area, due to the randomness, then replacing the battery will be a great quantity of the task and it is difficult to realize. Therefore, prolong the service life of the whole network is one of the important characteristics of WSN network. How to ensure the accuracy of the tracking and reduce the energy consumption to prolong the network lifetime at the same time is designed target tracking system which has to consider some of the key technical problems. So, target tracking technology research is of important theoretical and practical significance for WSN network.This paper first introduces the concept of WSN network and its basic characteristics, secondly elaborates several classic target tracking algorithm, and analyze the principle of different algorithms and tracking effectiveness, and the effectiveness of the energy. On that basis, this paper puts forward a target tracking algorithm based on hierarchical cluster head radius of rotary mechanism, dynamic points cluster member nodes use maximum likelihood method on the target position tracking calculation to ensure accuracy, a sensor node detection radius classification to reduce the power consumption of the whole network. This method can not only reduce the excessive consumption of the node energy but also try to locate object. The problem can be described as follows interpretation:in the sensor stationing area, we hypothesis that tracking object moves slowly or static state, in this case the cluster head nodes will stay for a long time and its energy consumption is too large, thus affecting the positioning accuracy in the whole network. It also can not be able to effectively target tracking when the target is lost.In order to solve the above problems, this paper proposes a classification based on sensor node radius of dynamic cluster head turns mechanism. First of all sensor nodes have high and low power consumption of the radius, in target tracking process, all the sensor nodes join the members cluster by the energy and target signal strength, it will be adjusted dynamic with the target’s movement, the members in the cluster adjust and update the information at the same time.In target tracking process, all nodes enable low power radius, when the target is lost, firstly node in the member cluster will start high power radius, after a period of time, all nodes will start high power radius to track his target, within the threshold all nodes will be in a suspended state. Matlab is used to repeat simulate the proposed algorithm to verify the effectiveness.
