With the development of multimedia technology, the digital audio has been widely used in consumer electronics, network audio, portable terminals and other fields. Audio with actual three-dimensional sense of space can provide people with a better listening experience. The3D audio technology can be divided into two parts:the sound field perception and reproduction. Because the sound field distribution perception is the premise of the sound field reconstruction, the sound field perception requires a large number of microphones to accurately get the sound field distribution. The denser is the microphone array distribution, the more precise is the perceived sound field distribution, but which will affect the sound field distribution. In order to minimize the effect, we respectively propose two schemes to reduce the number of microphones in the Wave Field Synthesis (WFS) and High-order Ambisonics (HOA) technology which can reproduce a3D audio field, borrowing ideas from the sound field recording of the near field acoustic holography:(1) the sound field perception based on Gaussian mixture regression with WFS:the global sound pressure information in a plane can be predicted by the GMM model, which is built by using the local sound pressure information as the training data, gathering the local sound pressure information only needs a few microphones.(2) the sound field perception based on compressed sensing with HOA:the sound field sound pressure, captured by a spherical microphone array, is transformed into the spherical harmonic domain to get the spherical harmonic coefficients that can be reconstructed under the compressed sensing theory, which reduces the number of microphones to collect the spherical harmonic coefficients that can recreate the sound field sound pressure distribution. Finally, experimental results demonstrate the two methods used in this article can reduce the number of microphone used in WFS and HOA, while the reconstructed sound field is similar with the ideal sound field, providing the foundation for a high-quality3D audio system.
