The embedded industry develops all around in recent years, and the network also play an increasingly important role in people’s daily life. Consumer electronic products such as mobile phone, tablet computer guides a development trend of embedded products, that is "intelligent" and "network". Smart TV was born in such a social trend.Smart TV is becoming more and more powerful in the development. From just process the television signal and network video signal in the beginning to support3D games, third party applications nowadays. This paper has designed and implemented one smart TV based on the competitive "double A architecture"(ARM+Android) and has more powerful, smaller size, lower power consumption than the ones which already sells in the market.The system uses one multimedia application focused MV88DE3108chip which is producted by Marvell technology limited. The chip contains a SoC and a microcontroller. The core processor in SoC is one high performance processor based on the ARMv7instruction set and can reach1.2GHz in process frequency, it also has integrated image, audio and video processing unit that can support QDEO codec technology; micro controller is a low power microcontroller based on the ARMv5instruction set, and main frequency is only25MHz. The micro controller is used for manage the power supply, the system power consumption and most of the low-speed peripherals.The contents of this paper are involved in the start-up process, power management, system communication, Bluetooth module and the expansion of audio and video decoding functions of Android system. For the structure arrangement, this paper is described on the main part of the hardware design, software design and implementation process. The hardware part includes the main processor chip selection, circuit design, etc. The software part includes the architecture for the whole system, the implementation of system manager and the expansion method for multimedia support in Android. And this paper has tested and verified the full system, which ensures the stability and integrity of this Smart TV system.
