With the rapid development of mobile communication technology, the communicationnetwork structure is becoming more diverse and complex, the collaboration has become thetrend of the development of the next-generation wireless communication systems. Any kindof mobile communication technology won’t dominate the future network, while theheterogeneous wireless network will integrate a variety of radio technologies. The evolutionof communication technology has brought unprecedented convenience for us, but arefollowed with the problem of power consumption which worth our focus as well. In terms ofthe energy, environment and economic, energy saving has become an urgent problem of thecommunication industry. In the composition of power consumption in the communicationsystems, the maximum proportion is the base station. Various methods have been exploredby the scholars to reduce the power consumption of the base station in the network. The mobile agent ideological and the CoMP mechanism are introduced into the HSCAnetwork architecture to solve its problems which are pointed in this paper. A semi-distributedand cooperated grid structure is proposed in heterogeneous wireless networks, which isapplicable to the deployment of the energy-saving methods for base station. Besides, thesignal interaction process between each element in the SDCGA structure is introduced. The ideal energy-saving methods of base station should be achieved by unifieddeployment from several levels, such as, network architecture, admission control, jointresources management, dynamic power allocation and inter-network load transfer. Aiming atachieving this goal, the flow division has been introduced into the research. Accordingly, analgorithm is proposed which is called Flow Division-based Energy-saving Algorithm forBase Station in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks, which is written as FDE for short. InFDE, from the service request’s beginning until the end, the network dynamically calculatesthe optimal flow-dividing ratio of the service between systems, aiming at minimizing thepower consumed by the network while guaranteeing the QoS requirements of the service. Thus, the resources of the heterogeneous wireless network are jointly managed for energyconservation. Simulation results show that FDE algorithm can achieve better network energyefficient gain, and improve the utilization rate of resources effectively.Taking into account the performance of CoMP mechanism to increase the rate of celledge users, the develop background and current research of CoMP is analyzed. Based on this, the potential of CoMP applied to the energy efficient research is discussed. Based on FDE,an improved FDE algorithm combined with multi-point collaboration communication is putforward, called C-FDE. Simulation results show that, compared to FDE, C-FDE is possibleto further reduce the energy consumption in the process of admission, with a better network energy efficient. An improved C-FDE algorithm incorporated with sleeping scheme is proposed for thelightly loaded network, called CS-FDE. In CS-FDE, the lightly loaded cell is allowed tosleep, while other active cells in the same CoMP cell cluster will carry the services.Simulation results show that, compared to the Cell zooming method, CS-FDE can servicethe user while doesn’t need to expand the coverage area of the neighbor cells, achievingsuperior network energy efficient gain. The work and results of this paper is of great importance to the realization of energyefficient base station based on flow division in heterogeneous wireless work.
