Throughout the world, millions of people die from breast cancer each year, breastcancer has become a serious global threat to women’s health issues,For the patients,if the diagnosis of breast cancer earlier, the recovery rate and survival rate is very high,so a lot of countries regularly carry out the early diagnosis of breast cancer.The mainfeatures of breast X-ray image including calcification and other interesting features, butthe breast X-ray image with low contrast,that characteristic is not obvious, which isnecessary to enhance the image to highlight the important features of the image ofcalcification.The basic method of image enhancing including histogramequalization,region-based contrast enhancement of mammograms,digital breast X-rayimage filtering and enhancement method based on fuzzy transform,digital breastX-ray image local contrast enhancement method based on mathematicalmorphology,digital breast X-ray image microcalcifications enhancement methodbased on Fourier Transform,breast X-ray image microcalcifications enhancementmethod based on Fractal Modeling and Segmentation, breast X-ray imagemicrocalcifications enhancement and contrast enhancement method based on wavelettransform and so on,This paper presents breast X-ray image enhancement methodbased on ridgelet and curvelet theory, firstly,doing low-pass filtering for image, weakenthe low-frequency image, preprocessing the image, and then doing the new curvelettransform,extract the larger coefficient of the curvelet transform which represent theinterest parts. the larger curvelet transform coefficients are extracted from the curvelettransform and then enhanced them, so that the region of interest and other parts areseparated, prominent the feature, enhenced the image to facilitate the detection ofeffect.
