There have already been several kinds of management systems in EMC2. However, the systems are independtly from each other and the data is scattered and inconsistent. So the data isn’t in full use. This is a common circumstance in many other companies. To resolve this problem, an integrated database of resource management system based on data warehouse is put forward. It helps to solve "information island" problem which is sharing information between different departments in EMC2. This system not only plays an important role in EMC2, but also set a great example to other companies.By analysising the requirements of four types of users, the system provides four functions, which are human resource management, project management, project schedule management and information visualization. By analysising the releated data source including relational database and data documents, the ETL process is defined. According to the requirements, the system is designed in a four-level architechture, which are model layer, ETL layer, server endpoint and client endpoint. Data warehouse and ETL effectively integrate multiple data sources. The server endpoint occupies Spring and Hibernate framework which is relatively mature, while the client endpoint use RIA technology in Flex. Flex make full use of its abundant interface performance in order to provide a better user experience. At the same time, we use the RPC technology to bridge Spring and FLEX, which laid a foundation for later distributed deployment.Since the system put into use in Feburary, the employees’ work efficiency has been highly improved, especially to the mid-level managers. It expands the scope of information sharing inside company. The trace of the Bug statistics helps managers figure out problems earlier and find the relationship between problems to solve the problem as soon as possible. Resource allocation part helps managers to efficiently use resources and better grasp the project progress.
