This thesis focuses on the multi-wavelength fiber laser (MWFL) based on stimulated Brilliouin scattering (SBS). A widely tunable multi-wavelength fiber laser is set up based on cascaded stimulated Brillouin scattering in a compact line cavity, and the factors which affect the output stokes line and wavelength tunability of the fiber laser are analyzed. The progress of fiber lasers is reviewed. And then, the theory of stimulated Brillouin scattering, four-wave mixing (FWM), and also the principles of broadening of spectral lines and mode competition in Erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) are studied. A widely tunable multi-wavelength fiber laser is established based on cascaded stimulated Brillouin scattering in a compact line cavity and the influence of the Brillouin pump power and EDFA pump power on the output stokes lines and wavelength tunability of the fiber laser are investigated. By changing the coupling ratio of the optical and adopting a high-nonlinearity fiber (HNLF) as the Brillouin gain medium, stable multi-ple wavelengths with about110Brillouin stokes lines and0.089nm wavelength spacing are achieved at room temperature in the range of1556-1566nm.
