Abstract:In recent years,people pay much attention on the development of the digital homenetwork.The focus of current rearch is how to connect network devices and household eq uipmentin wired or wireless means in order to realize information share and interoperability. This realizationof above functionality needs UPnP protocol in middleware architecture. UPNP is a mainstreamprotocol in the home network, and it is based on the application layer protocol on top of TCP/IP.UPNP develops a series of norms for the access,found and control of digital devices.A variety ofhousehold appliances connect through a home network and work together.It allows user to use anydevice to access and enjoy multimedia content of the home network.This thesis is based on this goal, through in-depth analysis of the UPNP protocol stackstructure and characteristics of the Android platform,implement a UPNP media player on theAndroid platform.Firstly,with combination of the overall framework for the UPNP mediaplayback system,the thesis proposes the implementation of UPNP media player,and describes theimplementation process of UPNP media player in detail.The thesis use the Cling library to achievethe UPNP protocol stack functionality,the Android multimedia interface to achieve the media playerfunctionality,finally successfully transplants the application on the Android platform embeddeddevelopment board.Generally speaking, the media server program developed by the project team runs onPC,the embedded development board is regarded as a media player. The wireless router connectsthe PC and the Android embedded development board together. Embedded development board cansuccessfully play the multimedia resources in the media servers, and the user can control the mediaplayer through the control point interface. This thesis successfully simulates the scene in the digitalhome network.
